Wednesday is Pajama Day for first graders. The tops must have a sleeve...no tank tops, narrow straps or spagetti straps. All pictures and words on the PJ's must be appropriate for school. Because the students go outside for recess, please no slippers or flip-flops.
DON'T FORGET: SURPRISE PIZZA DAY IS THURSDAY, MAY 19TH. NO NEED TO SEND LUNCH FOR YOUR CHILD...MS. D'ANDEA AND I WILL PROVIDE PIZZA AND ONE JUICE BOX FOR THE CHILDREN.
There will be no more spelling or phonogram tests.
We will finish reading our last chapter book, Vacation Under the Volcano. The students are doing a great job.
In math we will be reviewing much of what we learned this year, but we will also continue with Saxon lessons. Our last test will be this week.
Dinosaurs is our final science unit.
We will talk about Independence Day in social studies.
In language arts we will do a lot of reviewing.
Now that the weather is geting hotter it is important for your child to have a water bottle at school each day. If you freeze it, remember to take some water out before freezing; otherwise it "explodes" when your child opens the bottle.
Be sure to check planners for notes/info about fun stuff we will start doing. Please let me know if your child has any dietary restrictions as we will be doing things involving food.
We could use a few boxes of tissues to get us through to the end of the year...THANK YOU!
Have a wonderful week!

The most important thing your child needs to learn in first grade is to listen and follow directions the first time.
"First graders live life out loud and in color. We work hard and do our best."
My goal is to "Help your children become all they are capable of being".
